Mid-Winter Tweet Review: Inflation & Poor Customer Service Near a Breaking Point
“Out of control,” or words to that effect, are guaranteed responses from anyone buying almost anything this year. Nobody seems surprised, according to consumers I have interviewed on this topic so far. And industry purchasing agents quickly agree. What’s really concerning is an acceptance by most people that even more price hikes are inevitable. We might as well grin and bear it!
Less annoying but still undigestible is how inept many businesses have become in responding to customer inquiries. A recent instance of how poorly things are working at medical offices is phone-call waiting time—sometimes reaching what seems like forever. In one recent case, my calls were directed to an answering service that moved me along to an inside service, where I was greeted by further waiting, and in the end, no response at all.
Last but not least, if you are a business owner, what competitive advantage will you offer customers in a market where pricing is sky high? I will continue proposing potential solutions in upcoming Twitter posts. To make sure you don’t miss them, be sure to follow my account!
